Steam's Spring Cleaning Event Rewards You For Clearing Your Backlog of Games

Play nine free games to help get you started.

Steam's Spring Cleaning sale is now live. In the spirit of going back and tidying up your backlog, you can now earn achievements and complete daily tasks for completing old games. All of that progress will go towards new trophies and profile badges.

Over this holiday weekend, Steam will ask players to dig through their Steam library and play games they've purchased but never got around to start playing for whatever reason. Doing so will unlock the Spring Cleaning badge, which can be leveled up the more you play.

To help, Valve is offering nine games that will be free-to-play over the weekend. They are:

  • Borderlands 2
  • Castle Crashers
  • Cities: Skylines
  • Dead by Daylight
  • Dirt 4
  • Don't Start Together: A New Reign
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Shadow of Mordor
  • Tyranny

These games will be available from May 24 to May 28. Starting and completing them will go towards your status as a really tidy Spring Cleaner. Also, seriously friend, it's time to start cleaning up that backlog. I know I have to.
