SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech is Coming First to Nintendo Switch in 2019

A deckbuilding, monster slaying, fantasy RPG.

Today (January 23), Nintendo released its latest Indie Highlights reel, showcasing some upcoming indie games that Switch owners can look forward to in 2019. The next entry in the SteamWorld series, SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech was announced, and it’s something a little different to what we’ve seen from the team previously.

SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech will launch first on Nintendo Switch at some point in 2019, and blends the series’ iconic steampunk style with classic fantasy RPG gameplay. From the brief trailer that was shown, the game looks to be a turn-based fantasy RPG, with elements of deck building and strategy thrown in for good measure.

The player can collect cards from treasure chests in the game, and then build decks to go into battle with. There looks to be a party system too, with each team member having access to their own set of cards and abilities.

We’ll be covering all of the other big announcements from today’s presentation very soon indeed. Stay tuned for further updates as we get them.
