Street Fighter 5 Kicks Off Season 2 With Akuma on Dec 20

The master of the Satsui no Hado is coming back to Street Fighter with a new 'do.

On stage at the PlayStation Experience 2016, Capcom announced the start of Street Fighter V's second season! The season will begin with the release of Akuma! The master of Satsui no Hado returns with a look that seems inspired by Street Fighter IV's Gouken, with a new hairstyle to boot.

Akuma's V-Skill is Rakan, a parry-style move similar to Ryu's V-Skill, Mind's Eye. Akuma's version allows hit to follow-up for combos with a launcher or a pushback palm strike. His V-Trigger is Dohatsu Shoten, making his fireballs more powerful and increasing their distance to full-screen. At the same time, his Dragon Punch gets a follow-up attack, smashing opponents into the ground.

Akuma has two Critical Arts. The first is Sekia Koretsuha, where he slaps the ground with a wave of energy. The second is the classic Shun Goku Satsu, where Akuma grabs his opponent and gives them a world of hurt!

Akuma will be released as part of the 2017 Character Pass, which launches on December 20 for $29.99. He'll launch with his Story, Premium Battle, and Nostalgia costumes, alongside the SF5 Holiday Content, B-Boy Ryu, and B-Girl Chun-Li costumes. The full Character Pass will have 5 additional, unannounced characters.
