Dotemu Says More Streets of Rage 4 Content Is on the Way

"YES" is the answer, but no ETA on when.

Earlier this year, Dotemu revived the Streets of Rage series with a fourth entry. Today, the studio confirmed more is on the way—though when it arrives has yet to be determined.

In an AMA on the PlayStation 4 subreddit, Dotemu CEO Cyrille Imbert responded to many inquiries about potential DLC. "We have many ideas, and we really want to add more content in the future," said Imbert. "But nothing has been decided yet, so we are listening to you and will let you know 'what' and 'when' soon."

In a follow-up tweet, Dotemu says yes, there will be more content for Streets of Rage 4. There is "no ETA" however, so I wouldn't pin hopes on any sort of surprise drop anytime soon.

Streets of Rage 4 launched earlier this year, and in my opinion, it was a pretty great revival of the series. The collaboration between Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games resulted in a solid brawler that both paid homage to its predecessors and built up on top of that with new ideas. Some more content would be very welcome, if only for an excuse to run back through the campaign again.

What form that content might take is anyone's guess. Fans are hopeful for Estel, the police officer that chases the Streets of Rage crew throughout the campaign. Roo also makes a cameo in one level, too. Some new characters and combos to learn would definitely be rad. We'll hopefully see what Dotemu and the crew have in store, as Imbert says, "soon."
