Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Arms Fighter Will Be Revealed Next Week

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Arms Fighter Will Be Revealed Next Week

But no other fighter will make an appearance just yet.

The next character joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is getting their own live stream next week. But while the debut of the mysterious Arms fighter will take a decent chunk of time, Nintendo is also saying that no other fighter will be revealed during the stream.

Announced today on Nintendo's social channels, there will be another Mr. Sakurai Presents stream next Monday, June 22 at 7 a.m. PT to reveal the Arms fighter coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The stream will be roughly 35 minutes, but in a follow-up tweet, Nintendo clarifies that "there will be no further new fighter reveals other than a fighter from Arms in this livestream."

Sorry if you had your hopes up for the surprise debut of a favorite Nintendo character. An Arms character was confirmed to be the next combatant earlier this year during the March Nintendo Direct Mini. Who that fighter could be is still up in the air; the gooey blob Helix is a favorite around these parts, though Min Min and Twintelle are also popular choices. Just please, don't let it be the ninja guy.

Arms is an unconventional fighting game, a strange mix of Punch-Out and Virtual On that nevertheless captured our hearts with its heartwarming charm and stretchy appendages. There are still five fighters to go in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighters Pass Vol. 2 though, so maybe those holding out hopes for Geno or Rusty from Rusty's Real Deal Baseball can still see their favorite make it in.
