It's time for another character to join the likes of Mario, Samus, and Kirby in Nintendo's mega-crossover brawler. A new video presentation is on the way to debut the next fighter joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The video will be about three minutes long, according to Nintendo of America. It will also be followed by a brief message from Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai. It doesn't look like we'll be getting the same epic history of development that we saw for fighters like SNK's Terry Bogard, though I'm not ruling anything out.
As for who will be joining the roster, this honestly feels like a toss-up, which is exciting. Despite the most recent addition Min Min feeling like an odd choice, it was known for a while that her spot would be for a character from ARMS. This next roster slot has no expectations set, and no real signifiers laid out by Nintendo itself.
Fan speculation is, predictably, running rampant. The close proximity of this presentation to Friday's launch of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has plenty of people speculating that the platformer protagonist could be joining the likes of Mario and Banjo-Kazooie in Smash Bros. There are still beloved characters like Super Mario RPG's Geno without a spot, too. Me? Put Zagreus in Smash, that's what I say.
