Surprise! A Big Patch for Fortnite Chapter 2 is Live [Update]

Fortnite Chapter 2 is now live.

Update: Fortnite Chapter 2 is now live! After you've downloaded the new update on all platforms, you can delve straight into the brand new map, including new challenges, skins, fishing, and more.

After Fortnite Battle Royale was sucked into a black hole (literally) on Sunday, we're inching ever closer to the final launch of Chapter 2 for Fortnite. While the mode isn't actually back online at the time of writing, a big new patch is live for the game on all platforms.

You can download the new Chapter 2 update for Fortnite right now on all platforms. The file size of the update is 9GB on consoles, and 14GB on PC. Below, you can check out the cinematic trailer for Fortnite Chapter 2, which introduces fishing, a host of new skins, and the brand new map.

It sort of goes without saying, but the new map is the headline addition for Fortnite Chapter 2. This is the first time since Battle Royale launched that there's been an entirely new map, since before there's been a handful of new locations added into the same map.

All of this comes after nearly 2 full days of staring at a black hole. If you went into the Fortnite Battle Royale mode any time after Sunday, October 13, you'd be greeted with a mysterious black hole in the middle of the screen. The Battle Royale mode was effectively gone since then, and everyone was left guessing as to when it would return for the new season.

If you're after more Fortnite content, then we've got you covered here at USG. You can check out our main Fortnite Chapter 2 map guide for a full overview of the new locales, our Fortnite XP guide on how to earn XP quickly, or our Fortnite Medals guide for a full list of the new Medals.
