It's time to take your Switch out to the ball game. Super Mega Baseball 2 is getting an Ultimate Edition including all the game's DLC, and it's coming to the Nintendo Switch alongside versions on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
According to a release from developer Metalhead Software, the ballpark action will run at 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld mode. Online play will also be included so you can run the bases online with friends, and it all comes in at the price of $29.99.
Since I've been looking for a solid baseball game on my Switch (and RBI Baseball doesn't seem up to the task), this looks like a great fit. You might remember Super Mega Baseball 2 as the game that made the rounds for being able to brutally bean the pitcher with a clean hit.

Jokes aside, Super Mega Baseball 2 looks like a really good option for sating my baseball craving. It has a ton of options for play with others as well: not only can you co-op through seasons and play the Pennant Race mode cross-platform (with Xbox One and Steam), but you can play against others on the same screen with single Joy-Cons. I'm pretty psyched about the chance to play a long-distance season with friends, likely playing it with a baseball game on the TV in the background thanks to the portability of the Switch.
While Super Mega Baseball 2 hits the eShop next week, the base game and its DLC will also get a price reduction to reflect the new Ultimate Edition. While you wait in the meantime, learn a little more about baseball and Nintendo's ties by learning how the company saved Seattle baseball in our 2016 feature. It will be out July 25.
