Team Sonic Racing Delayed to 2019

Gotta go fast...into next year.

Sega just announced that the upcoming Team Sonic Racing was just delayed until next year. The new release date is set for May 21, 2019.

In a tweet from the official Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter account Sega announced the change of plans. "To make Team Sonic Racing the best game it can be, we're giving the team extra time to work on it." Sumo Digital is the developer on the upcoming arcade racer following successful stints developing Sonic & All-Stars Racing and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

Team Sonic Racing was leaked and teased before getting officially announced earlier this year with a release for PC, Switch, Xbox One, and PS4 set for Winter 2018. We also got a chance to preview Team Sonic Racing in June, and while it wasn't Sonic & All-Stars, it was damn good.

Despite our positive impressions on Team Sonic Racing it seems Sega and Sumo Digital want to spend more time polishing up the full game. And hey, if they can make the good foundation even better we won't complain.

"We know delays are no fun, but quality matters most. Thanks for your patience," Sega says while teasing more Team Sonic Racing content in the future.
