Team Sonic Racing Officially Announced

Rev up for some Sonic racing.

Get your engines started, Sega just officially announced Team Sonic Racing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Team Sonic Racing was first teased back in the Sega panel at SXSW, but Sega officially announced the game today. What's more, Team Sonic Racing is being developed by Sumo Digital. You can see a brief teaser trailer below.

Team Sonic Racing features races with 12 racers competing against each other. There will be 15 playable characters from the Sonic universe with one of three types: speed, power, or technique.

The game supports four player split screen, a Grand Prix Mode, time trial, and something called Team Adventure Mode. The Adventure Mode that will give players a story experience for the various Sonic racers and basic game features, though what form this story mode will take is still unknown.

True to its name, players can build teams of racers for various team moves, assists, or Team Ultimate attacks.
