Bandai Namco announced today that Tekken 7 will be launching worldwide for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 2. Japan will actually be getting the game a day earlier on June 1 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Tekken 7 is the latest entry in the long-running fighting game series and will mark the end of the Mishima Blood Saga that has been going on since the first Tekken release. The game's roster will feature 30 playable characters, including the Street Fighter crossover fighter Akuma. Tekken 7 is powered by Unreal Engine 4.
Players who pre-order the game will receive Tekken Revolution's Eliza free and Xbox One players will get a copy of Tekken 6 via the Xbox backwards compatibility program (the Xbox pre-order pack will be available on January 31, 2017). Tekken 7 will have a Season Pass, which lets players access three downloadable content packs for the game. These packs will include new playable characters, new stages, a new game mode, costume packs, and a bonus 35-piece Metallic Costume Pack.
Finally, the PlayStation 4 version of Tekken 7 will acknowledge the long history Tekken has had with the platform, offering legacy Tekken 2 and Tekken 4 costumes for King, Xiaoyu and Jin. In addtion, there will be a special Jukebox Mode, letting PS4 players listen to classic Tekken tracks while they play.
