Two seasons of Minecraft: Story Mode will be wiped from the digital ether soon. In an announcement on the Minecraft blog, the company announced that the Telltale series would be delisted on June 25 from all major services, and would no longer be supported.
Publisher Telltale Games closed down almost a year ago, and in the time since, various games from its library have been gradually delisted from storefronts. In Minecraft's case, the blog advises those who wish to still play it to download the games now, as they might not be re-downloadable in the future.
On behalf of the publisher, Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series, Season 1 and 2 will no longer be supported on June 25th, 2019. If you have purchased these seasons, please download all remaining episodes prior to the service being discontinued in June.
This includes Story Mode on PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, and iOS. If you own Story Mode on any of those and want to play them at any point, best to be safe and download them before June 25. Otherwise, they're gone for the foreseeable future.
The same goes for most of Telltale's games at this point, as it seems like the cascade of delistings isn't slowing down any time soon. If you want to learn more about the history of Telltale Games, be sure to read our feature on the rise and fall of the adventure game studio.
