The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Beta is Live Now for Some Players

Some players can access the beta on PS4 right now.

The Call of Duty Black Ops 4 beta might be live for some players right now. While the beta officially starts tomorrow and lasts until August 6 for PlayStation 4, a soft launch for the beta means that some players can play the beta right now.

I tested it and found that I'm currently allowed to access the Black Ops 4 beta and snuck in a quick round with a full set of players on each team. For those of you still stuck waiting for the beta to launch, the official wide launch for the beta begins on August 3 at 10am PT/1pm ET.

Black Ops 4 beta schedule.

If you haven't already, you can pre-load the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 beta so that you can have it start right away when the official beta launches tomorrow. The size of the Black Ops 4 beta is about 31GB so start early if you want to get that download finished in time.

To get access to the beta you'll need to pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on PlayStation, Xbox, or Battle.net. You'll then be able to redeem a token for beta access.

The Black Ops 4 beta includes six game modes, four playlists, and six maps. The battle royale mode Blackout will not be a part of the beta, instead Blackout is getting a separate beta in September. You'll also have access to ten of the game's classes.

For additional details, including a full list of available characters, maps, and modes, check out our Black Ops 4 beta guide.
