The Crew 2's First Free Update Adds More Hovercraft Action

Ubisoft redesigns parts of its map of the United States to accommodate the new vehicle.

Ubisoft announced today the first free update to The Crew 2, entitled Gator Rush. The game might have had a rough start, but Ubisoft has never been one to let that stop them.

Gator Rush makes the hovercraft a new discipline in the Off-Road family, blowing the vehicle-type out with a few new vehicles and some redesigned areas of the United States. Three new hovercraft can be earned or purchased, with another two vehicles being available seven days early for Season Pass owners: the XK Armored hovercraft and Ariel Nomad Rally Raid car.

"In addition to the Bayou, other iconic places across the US map, such as Lake Michigan and Glacier Park, have been redesigned with enhancements such as steep slopes and banked curves. Players can enjoy these enhancements in all-new events, a Live Xtrem Series race and free drive, with new skills available in the open world bringing new ways to explore the United States map," said Ubisoft in its press release.

In addition to the new vehicles and discipline, the developers have also added a new difficulty level, Ace Mode, to challenge high-level players. And as a reward for completing Ace Mode events, there are new Legendary parts to upgrade your vehicles. The next update to The Crew 2 will add PVP and new disciplines this December.

Ubisoft is also opening up The Crew 2 to new players with a free weekend, from September 27-30 on PC. The free weekend will include the new Gator Rush content. Alongside the free period, Ubisoft is offer discounts of the The Crew 2 on PC and PlayStation 4.

If you see him around a convention, he's not hard to spot: Black guy, glasses, and a tie.
