Check Out This PS1 Demake of The Last of Us Part 2

Created in Dreams Early Access.

The Last of Us Part 2 isn't even out yet, but someone's already been hard at work recreating/demaking the game (in part) in Media Molecule's Dreams. A small slice of gameplay has debuted on YouTube, showing what the game would look like if it was releasing on PS1.

You can see the gameplay slice from The Last of Us Part 2 - PS1 Edition below. It features a location that the creator thinks (or hopes) will be in the final game from Naughty Dog: A Firefly Safe House.

In the gameplay, we see a PS1 version of Ellie working her way around a street, and the surroundings of the Firefly Safe House, which by all accounts looks pretty wrecked. The protagonist of the sequel appears to be hunting for Joel.

There's even a stealth section of gameplay in the snippet. You can see the low-poly Ellie sneaking around what appears to be a Clicker, taking care not to go too quickly or they'll get heard.

Turns out this is only one in a series of creations from YouTuber Bearly Regal. They've actually created Cyberpunk 2077, Death Stranding, and other prestigious games in Dreams, as though they were originally released on PS1.

For Naughty Dog's version, we'll have to wait a little longer. The Last of Us Part 2 releases on May 29, 2020 for the PS4. Ellie will probably look a little more modern in that version.
