The Last Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct is This Thursday

Nintendo's ready to crank Super Smash Bros Ultimate's hype up to 101.

A new Nintendo Direct is coming your way this week, and it's dedicated to Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch. You are cordially invited to keep company with Smash Bros series director Masahiro Sakurai on Thursday, November 1 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET. If you're on the west coast, brew some strong coffee.

According to Nintendo's official page for the presentation, we can expect 40 minutes of new game information delivered by Sakurai himself. The show will be followed up by a Treehouse: Live presentation.

This is the last dedicated Smash Bros Ultimate Direct we'll get before the game arrives on December 7. As with Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS, the roster reveal for Ultimate has been a wild ride—and it's still ongoing. Simon Belmont, King K Rool, and Richter Belmont are all joining Smash Bros, and Animal Crossing's sweet Isabella is ready to Smash, too.

We're sure to get a new reveal or two on Thursday, so start working yourself into a froth. The internet's been abuzz about a leak that's supposedly more creditable than most (that's what they all say), but don't get distracted. While you're peering hard into the ether and anticipating Geno's arrival, you might get blindsided by Vault Boy's surprise Smash debut.

You can watch the Smash Direct on Nintendo's Twitch channel when the time comes. We'll cover the presentation in-depth, of course. We already have everything worth knowing about Super Smash Bros Ultimate in our guides for the game.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
