The Life is Strange Prequel Screenshots Leak Online

Starring Chloe Price and Rachel Amber.

According to newly surfaced leaks, there might be a Life is Strange prequel in the works starring one of the original heroines of the first game, Chloe Price. If true, this will be a second Life is Strange project currently in the works.

A series of leaked screenshots surfaced this morning after French video game website Gamekult took a quick look into the source code for Denver-based video game developer Deck Nine Games' website. The website has since gone offline, but an anonymous user on Imgur created a gallery with what appears to be screenshots and artwork for a Life is Strange prequel as evidenced by the screenshots of a younger Chloe Price (pre-blue hair) and her best friend Rachel Amber.

Other screenshots include scenes of Chloe standing in front of an incoming train, Rachel and Chloe hanging out in an abandoned train car (from the first game), and a particularly interesting scene involving a blazing tree that looks like some supernatural shenanigans.

The original Life is Strange is an episodic, supernatural slice-of-life story that told the story of high school photographer Max Caulfield as she uncovers a dark mystery in her sleepy Oregon town. The game was developed by French developer Dontnod Entertainment alongside publisher Square Enix, but Deck Nine Games appears to be taking over for the prequel.

In fact, Deck Nine Games recently rebranded itself, previously going by the name Idol Minds. The company announced a new focus towards creating narratively driven games and announced a statement that definitely leads one to believe the company might be working on a new Life is Strange project:

"Deck Nine have signed a partnership deal with a leading AAA videogame publisher and are deep in development on their first title, a brand new addition to a critically acclaimed franchise."

Earlier last month, Dontnod announced that their own Life is Strange team is working on a sequel, which suggests that the Deck Nine prequel is a separate project from a possible Life is Strange 2.
