The Xbox is getting another console exclusive, and it's one that's bound to send shivers down your spine. The Medium, a psychological horror game from Bloober Team, will launch for Xbox Series X | S and PC on Dec. 10, 2020.
Bloober Team's horror story uses a dual-reality, with a "dark mirror" world that protagonist Marianne can flip back and forth between from normal reality. As shown in the new trailer released today, it's a pretty unsettling alternate reality that Marianne has found.
This isn't Bloober Team's only next-gen game, either. Observer: System Redux, a next-gen remaster of the studio's cyberpunk mystery thriller, will be a launch game for both Xbox Series X | S and the PlayStation 5. The studio known for games like Layers of Fear and Blair Witch seems to be the one launching all the good scares for next-gen consoles.
The Medium bolsters Xbox's exclusive console offerings as well. Right now, most of its notable exclusives are games like Gears Tactics, which is finally coming to consoles. One big lock for Xbox's next-gen plans is Yakuza: Like a Dragon; the RPG-themed entry in the Yakuza series will launch on Nov. 10 for Xbox Series X | S, but won't come to PS5 until next March. (It's also coming to PC and PS4 on Nov. 10.)
Bloober Team's The Medium is also bucking the trend of next-gen price bumps, as it's priced at $49.99. If you've got a shiny new Xbox and need some scares for the holiday season, this seems like one to keep an eye on.
