The Missing is Swery's New Side-Scrolling Mystery Game Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch Later This Year

Three new screenshots for Swery's mysterious collaboration with Arc System Works.

Hidetaka "Swery" Suherio finally unveiled his new game in partnership with Arc System Work called The Missing. The first batch of screenshots from The Missing have been revealed and it's a side-scrolling mystery game.

The Missing, which has the full title The Missing J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories, is being developed between Swery's White Owls studio and Arc System Works. Swery announced The Missing along the time he relaunched the crowdfunding campaign for The Good Life.

The Missing

"A missing person, someone who's lost, or even something lost... Maybe it's your loved one... or a place you belong," said a mysterious trailer released earlier this year that first teased The Missing.

The new screenshots released for The Missing don't quite solve the mystery behind the earlier teaser but reveal The Missing is a side-scrolling action game. The official website for The Missing says that the new game is coming out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch later this year.

Swery is also currently working on The Good Life with Grounding Inc. Both The Missing and The Good Life are games centered around mystery, with The Good Life taking inspirations from English murder mysteries from authors like Agatha Christie.

We'll likely hear more about The Missing as we get closer to the release date, which has yet to be revealed.
