E3 leaks are in full swing, but this one is a bit odd. Usually, a leak comes from an anonymous tip, a too-soon retail listing, or maybe even a simple tweet. But a leak of Red Faction Evolution, what is presumably the next game in the Red Faction series, comes to us from a list of games supported by Nvidia's Ansel photography tools for its graphics cards.
The list has since been updated to no longer show it, but users on the Metacouncil forum (verified by PC Gamer) found it originally listed Red Faction Evolution as a game supported by Ansel. This confirms its existence, as well as at least one platform in one handy leak.
What Red Faction Evolution is, exactly, we don't know. The series has had a minor revitalization over the last few years thanks to the remastered version of Red Faction Guerrilla. While it looked gorgeous, it still retained all its original quirks and oddities. Whatever Evolution ends up being, it probably can't be worse than Red Faction Armageddon, which basically sent the series into hibernation.
As long as I can hit some houses with giant space hammer in the new Red Faction, I'm intrigued. Considering the massive load of games publisher THQ Nordic is moving along with, a new Red Faction could easily be among them.
We'll likely learn more as we get closer to the big show, E3. Keep up to date with all the press conference times and dates with our handy-dandy E3 2019 guide.
