Nier Series Has a "Decent Amount of New Info" To Reveal at Tokyo Game Show This Month

Covering Nier Automata, Replicant, and Reincarnation.

The Nier series will be taking to the digital stage later this month for Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online. Square Enix announced today that there will be a presentation revolving around Nier Reincarnation, Replicant, and Automata.

Candidly titled "We Have a Decent Amount of New Info," the special presentation from Square Enix will be taking place on Thursday, September 24. It'll be broadcast at 10 p.m. JST, which translates to 9 a.m. ET and 6 a.m. PT (sorry, West Coast folks), but will be fully subtitled in English.

I appreciate the honesty, Square Enix. | Square Enix

Several Nier games will be present at the showcase in some capacity. The mobile game Nier Reincarnation will make an appearance, as will the Nier Replicant remaster, the latter of which is due to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. We don't currently have release dates for either game.

Finally, there'll be an appearance from Nier Automata in some fashion. Although some suspected that this might mean Automata being ported to next-gen consoles, the Nier Japan Twitter account stated that Automata will merely be shown in "comparison" to the other two titles.

As one Twitter user noted, this means there are two unannounced showcases for Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online. There's no word on what could be revealed during these two mysterious presentation, but it's pretty logical to assume PlatinumGames's Babylon's Fall and Square Enix's very strange Balan Wonderworld could both be there.
