The Nintendo Switch Lite is Getting a Lovely Coral Pink Version This Spring

Coral joins the color options this April.

Nintendo announced a new color option to join the Switch Lite family today, and it's both pretty and a little pink. Coral-colored Nintendo Switch Lites will be hitting store shelves this April, as the fourth color option for the Lite series.

The Switch Lite, Nintendo's portable-focused version of the popular Nintendo Switch, seems to be faring well as a handheld-focused console. Nintendo recently highlighted its impressive sales numbers, noting that for the three months following its launch, one in three Switch consoles sold was a Switch Lite.

The coral color option is a nice addition to the lineup of turquoise, yellow, and charcoal. It's definitely a popular color scheme, as "Living Coral" was selected as Pantone's 2019 Color of the Year in December 2018. While the Switch Lite has also had a special version for the launch of Pokemon Sword and Shield, this color will presumably join the full Switch lineup as an ongoing color, rather than a limited launch.

Considering you can't slot Joy-Cons in and out of the Switch Lite to add a little splash of color, it's nice to see more options coming for prospective Nintendo Switch Lite owners. It's unknown yet whether this new Switch Lite's supply will be affected by reports of shortages due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
