The Original Star Wars Battlefront 2 Headlines April's Xbox Games With Gold

A new month of free games for Xbox Live Gold.

Xbox has announced its slate of free games coming to Games With Gold next month, and the theme seems to be space. The headliner is undoubtedly Pandemic's 2005 version of Star Wars Battlefront 2, which was released on Xbox One last year as a backward compatible game.

The rest of April's Games With Gold includes The Technomancer, Outcast Second Contact, and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. While Star Wars is the main headliner, Xbox is also offering Spiders' sci-fi RPG Technomancer, Appeal's open world adventure game, Outcast, and Ubisoft's sci-fi Ghost Recon title.

Pandemic's Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the sequel to the original Star Wars Battlefront game. Battlefront 2 puts players in either one of two warring Star Wars factions as they fight to control the battlefield. Players can choose between different classes and score points from kills or objectives. Earn enough points and players can trade them in to play one of the main heroes or villains from the Star Wars universe.

Here are the release dates for each Games With Gold title across the month of April:

  • The Technomancer – April 1 to 30
  • Outcast: Second Contact – April 16 to May 15
  • Star Wars: Battlefront 2 – April 1 to 15
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 – April 16 to 30

It's not too late to pick up March's Xbox Games With Gold titles either. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare 2 are still available on Xbox One for Gold member subscribers.
