It's a happy reunion as Jeremy Parish returns to share his perspective on Metroid: Samus Returns. Plus, we talk about Destiny 2, Pewdiepie, and lots more! (download link here).

I enjoyed Metroid: Samus Returns, but Jeremy is feeling a bit more ambivalent. We share our thoughts on the level design, the combat, and more, and decide whether it lives up to the legacy of Metroid. Also: Lots more discussion from the rest of the team on all the topics of the week.

    "The vita is like dead"
But, but... Caty, Vita means life...
There are many controversial opinions out there, but at some point you step over a line!

Though I don't understand why Mike wouldn't keep playing DGR2GD on Vita. Like, you get one inch extra and a bit higher res on Switch. But both are still good for on-the-go gaming and there is nothing wrong playing on an older system :)Edited September 2017 by blueberryboll

@blueberryboll But I don't wanna carry the Vita around anymore! (Actually taking it with me on this trip to finish Danganronpa 2.)

There's a good chance Jeremy is having reservations about finishing Metroid because he wants to move on to Etrian Odyssey. We've all had that happen. Two games come out at the same time that you really want to play and you pick one, and then halfway through you wished you picked the other one.

It's not really a knock on the game you are currently playing, but you read your gaming mood wrong.

Must make a note: Ultra Street Fighter 2 swiped HD Remix's updated art assets but reverted pretty much every single gameplay change they made. It's got a handful of (mostly weird) tweaks of its own from the 90s Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, but it's definitely its own thing :)

@Lonecow There's still another month to go before EOV ships, though, and Metroid games aren't exactly long, even if you take your time (and replay extensively to get everything/better times).
