Theme Hospital's Successor Two Point Hospital Is Coming To Consoles Later This Year

It's time to cure boredom on the go.

Hospital management is going portable. The health-care management and building sim Two Point Hospital is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch later this year.

The console version will include both the base game Two Point Hospital, as well as the Bigfoot and Pebberley Island expansions that were released later on in the game's lifespan. There are also a number of quality-of-life updates added over time that will be in the console version, including the ability to copy and paste rooms.

Two Point Hospital is a hopsital management sim where you have to balance the quest to do good and heal the sick with the demands of running the business, including expenses and finances. It's a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital, a game several of the current developers at Two Point worked on.

In bringing the game to console, brand director Craig Laycock writes in a blog post that the team has "designed an intuitive, quick and precise control scheme from the ground up." It seems the idea is to appeal to those who want to take a management sim on the go or into a larger setting, like the living room, where multiple people can watch and play. Honestly, I'm just excited for a Switch version.

We'll have more information as we get closer to a release date. Two Point Hospital is currently set for a "late 2019" release date, but hey, we're already over halfway done with the year, so the wait can't be that long.
