There's Plenty of Tricks and Treats in Pokemon Go's Leaked Halloween Event

Just brush your teeth and douse your soul in holy water when the night's over.

Halloween drifts ever-closer towards us, and it appears Pokémon Go might have a tricky treat in store for its players. "Chrales," Twitter's serial Pokémon Go data miner, posted some spooky goodies that appear to be forthcoming in Niantic's hit game.

(Potential mild Pokémon Go spoilers follow. OooOooOoooOO!)

The most noteworthy event appears to be a Special Research Task that involves catching 108 Pokémon (possibly Ghost-type Pokémon) for a chance to nab Spiritomb, a Ghost- and- Dark-type Gen IV Pokémon. Chrales also seemingly unveiled quests for capturing and evolving other Ghost-type and Dark-type Pokémon, including Duskull, Poochyena, and Houndour.

Chrales claims we can expect some spooky garb to go up for sale for All Hallow's Eve, too. Look for a Gengar-themed hat, backpack, and shirt, a Mismagius hat, a Spiritomb shirt, and more.

It's not clear when any of this Pokémon Go's Halloween material will go live, but with the big scary day barely a week away, "very soon" is a safe bet. Niantic hasn't confirmed it has anything special in the pipeline, but Pokémon Go has celebrated Halloweens past. Moreover, Chrales' record for leaks is good: They recently dug up info on the new Pokémon Meltan shortly before the little fellow was officially revealed.

Pokémon Go's Sinnoh chapter is proceeding nicely. Make sure to look at our extensive list of guides for Pokémon Go's Generation IV content.
