These Resident Evil 2 Remake Gameplay Videos are Jaw-Droppingly Good

Honestly, just watch the videos. Gore has come a long way in 20 years.

Resident Evil 2 was a surprise reveal at the Sony E3 2018 press conference, and a January release date was even more of a shock. Now E3 is well underway, the first gameplay footage of the Resident Evil 2 Remake has emerged, and it looks great.

PlayStation Live hosted a gameplay demo of Resident Evil 2, showing off the over-the-should gameplay for the first time. I think it looks about as good as I imagined it would.

As you can see (and are told in the video by Resi 2's producers), while this new game is based on the original Resident Evil 2, it's far bigger and with plenty of new content. While the visuals couldn't have been dreamed of back in 1998 on the original PlayStation, the voice acting is also in another league this time around.

The video below from Gamespot gives another look at Resident Evil 2 in action. The original's fixed viewpoints are completely gone, giving the game a look similar to that the series first introduced in Resident Evil 4.

And finally, because we did say the Resident Evil 2 footage was jaw-dropping, here is a quite gruesome GIF. Enjoy. Source: ResetEra.

His love of gaming started soon after, which essentially meant he bought every video game magazine available and worked numerous part-time jobs as a child in order to afford costly N64 games. He created UK site VideoGamer.com, of which he was the Editor for over a decade. He now doesn't like circuses.
