This Crash Bandicoot Successor Being Built Inside Dreams Is Surprisingly Huge

Multiple levels, boss fights, even a snowboard.

Some Dreams creators have already remade classic games, but it's another thing to make a completely new game in a well-known series. Dreams creator "milbox" isn't just making Crash Bandicoot, but a new Crash Bandicoot, and the scale of their project is frankly impressive.

Spotted over on GameXplain, Crash Bandicoot TripSanity is a "new" Crash game made inside Media Molecule's game creation suite Dreams. As of this writing, it already has seven levels, boss fights, and even a snowboard. Well, more like a sandboard.

What's really impressive is the level of detail put into this creation. It's not just a platformer with a Crash skin; all of the Bandicoot's signature moves, from double jumping to spins and belly flops, look and handle like they should. Mangos litter every level, and there's an overworld hub from which you can select areas to explore. Some Bandicoot pals are even hanging out in the hub, too.

While "milbox" is the creator, you can also use Dreams' credits tab to see whose creations also helped contribute to this feat. It's really something impressive, both in faithfulness and the sheer scope of what's been accomplished. You can check out TripSanity on its Dreams game page here.

Dreams launched out of early access last week, but even before then, creators were putting together some incredible things—creating original games or even building tech demos with controllers, string, and tape.
