THQ Nordic and Koch Media have announced that they’ve acquired Warhorse Studios, the team behind the open-world RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance. In the same press release, it was also revealed that the game from Warhorse has sold a grand total of 2 million copies.
”THQ Nordic AB's indirectly wholly owned subsidiary Koch Media GmbH has today entered into an agreement to acquire the Prague based Warhorse Studios,” reads the press release. “February 13th marks not only the 1st anniversary of the release but also unlocks a new sales achievement for the game. Warhorse and Koch Media are proud to announce that the title has sold over 2 million copies across all platforms by now.”
Last we heard, Kingdom Come: Deliverance had sold one million copies in the month following its launch in February 2018. In July 2018, the DLC ‘From the Ashes’ was released, turning the RPG into something of a management sim. Just this past month in February 2019, the 'Band of Bastards' DLC was released, with a combat-orientated quest line featuring multiple endings for our protagonist.
