Tomb Raider Sequel Name Spied on Montreal Subway [Rumor]

Following Rise of the Tomb Raider, it looks like the next game is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Earlier today, a Redditor Tripleh280 posted a photograph of someone working on a presentation on the subway. The presentation is for "Shadow of the Tomb Raider", which looks to be the next entry in Square Enix' adventure game series. According to the poster, the shot was taken in Montreal.

Normally, I would not report on this rumor, given a random photograph can be easily faked. However, Kotaku's Jason Schreier, who has a rather good track record, agrees with this rumor. Schreier says an anonymous source backed up the game's title.

Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider were developed by Crystal Dynamics, which is located in San Francisco. Eidos Montreal, the studio behind Thief and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, did help out with Rise of the Tomb Raider. Kotaku is reporting that Eidos Montreal is taking the reins for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which is why this laptop could be present in Montreal.

But currently, this is all rumor. I remain skeptical and Kotaku's reporting is the reason I'm bringing this to USgamer readers at all.

Third-person action-adventure games are his personal poison: Uncharted, Infamous, and Assassin's Creed just to name a few. If you see him around a convention, he's not hard to spot: Black guy, glasses, and a tie.
