Top 10 Clubs in FIFA 16

Dominate the pitch with Real Madrid, Arsenal and other stacked teams.

FIFA 16 is the big sports game right now, and matches are being determined by smaller margins than ever. The club you choose to take into battle could make all the difference in whether or not you walk away victorious. That said, here is a look at the top 10 clubs in FIFA 16 for you to pick from when pride is on the line. Choose a squad that fits your play style and prepare for glory.

10. Atlético Madrid

It is safe to say that FIFA 16 is the first installment in the franchise that would have Atletico in this discussion. It all starts with the well-rounded Jackson Martinez and resurgent Fernando Torres up front. Martinez’s ability to muscle off defenders in tight spots and blast stellar crosses for Torres to send goalward will make scoring opportunities plentiful. Atletico got the nod on this list due do the fact that they are a team specifically designed to slay the dragons of the Spanish La Liga, and something tells us we will see those dragons higher on the list.

9. Juventus F.C.

You won’t find much in terms of elite strikers on this Italian squad, but worry not, as Juventus has quality talent in both the midfield and defense in all of the Italian Seria A. Center mid Paul Pogba has one of the most dynamic skill sets in the game, with the ability to score at will from almost anywhere over the midfield line. With help in the back from defensive midfielder Sami Khedira, center back Giorgio Chiellini and proven gamer goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, Juve can compete against anybody in the world, proven by a 2015 Champions League final appearance.

8. Arsenal F.C.

Arsenal joined the ranks of the five-star FIFA clubs, thanks to the stellar play of center-mid Mesut Özil, along with Chilean superstar Alexi Sanchez on the wing. Add to the mix a player who is as fast as almost anybody in the game with Theo Walcott, and you have yourself a potent cocktail of offensive power. Finally, the gunners added legendary goalie Petr Čech, who will keep matches close at all costs. Move the ball quickly to open passing lanes and find easy scoring opportunities.

7. Borussia Dortmund

The first German team to appear on the list is Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga. Play through all-world midfielder Marco Reus, utilizing his speed, versatility and ability to control the ball in tight traffic. Support will come from striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and fellow midfielder İlkay Gündoğan in this rock solid starting 11. As an added bonus, Dortmund sports the most unique home-field advantage in the world with its famed Wall. Opponents will be intimidated before the match even begins.

6. Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

For years, Zlatan Ibrahimović has been an absolute force in the FIFA franchise. Don’t expect that to change much in this years edition. Ibra’s combination of size and laser-like shooting allows him to alter the pace of a game if he is given just a step of open space. With support from stellar midfielders Di Maria and Cavani, and a star studded defense with the likes of David Luiz and Thiago Silva, PSG is ready to run up the score on whoever steps in its path.

5. Chelsea F.C.

Eden Hazard leads a Chelsea attack with Cesc Fàbregas and Radamel Falcao (on loan) in an offense made to score in bunches. The perennial E.P.L. top dog also has one of the most underrated Goalkeepers in the sport right now. At 6’6”, Thibaut Courtois proved his ability to shut down teams in huge games, both on international and club levels. Chelsea plays a physical style of football, with formations made to focus on pressure points leading to turnovers in dangerous areas. Capitalize on Chelsea’s physicality and press forward quickly after changes in possession.

4. Manchester City F.C.

Manchester City is simply stacked in FIFA 16. Captain Yaya Touré controls the midfield, while the strongest David Silva we have ever seen in FIFA (90) can break free into open space with ease. The names keep rolling in, with transfer Kevin De Bruyne also in the midfield, and one of the best positional players on Earth, Kun Agüero, slithering his way to open space through even the best defenses.

3. FC Barcelona

Messi, Neymar, Suarez. Need we say more? On top of the big 3, the defending Champions League winners in Barcelona also have the premier possession player of the last decade in the form of midfielder Andrés Iniesta. All of this elite offensive talent, combined with a solid back line on defense, leaves you no excuse to not give yourself every opportunity to win matches. Lets just say it won’t be the team’s fault if you walk off the pitch without a victory.

2. FC Bayern Munich

Quite possibly the team with the most balance in all of FIFA 16, Bayern Munich redefines excellence in the Bundesliga. It is almost unfair to add Robert Lewendowski to the already incredible set of wingers, Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben. Legend Thomas Müller and Arturo Vidal hold down the midfield in front of the game’s best defense. Manuel Neuer is widely considered the best goalie on Earth, as if Bayern needed more help. This squad is nearly unstoppable if used correctly, with no glaring weaknesses to exploit.

1. Real Madrid F.C.

International superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale have the ability to break a game open at any moment for Real Madrid. Both guys have an incredible mix of speed, handling and finishing that makes them part of the most unstoppable force in the game. Proven stud striker Kareem Benzema plays up top and rarely misses an opportunity to finish. World Cup breakout star James Rodríguez moves the ball at a frantic pace in the midfield, working give and go’s with the other lethal weapons up front for “the whites.” In back, Ramos, Modric and Marcelo keep the star-studded names rolling in for Real Madrid. One thing to watch for is the goalkeeping on Real. But honestly, with those names up front, you should be able to win without having a goalie guarding the net.
