Tyler "Ninja" Blevins is one of the most well known Battlegrounds players around, whether he's playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, or Blevins' current full-time game, Fortnite Battle Royale. But he might have just met his match against none other than Phil Hughes, pitcher for the Minnesota Twins MLB team.
Huges jokingly tweeted out his surprise cameo in one of Ninja's streams in which the pitcher deals the finishing blow to the esport players. "I killed this guy named Ninja. People say he's good," wrote Hughes.
I killed this guy named Ninja. People say he’s good. I’m not sure I’ve only got a few hours in the game https://t.co/GL4XulICB2— Phil Hughes (@PJHughes45) January 29, 2018
The video clip shows Blevins during one of his streams as he takes out several other players towards the end of the game. However, right at the last moment, Blevins misses a shot, and as he jumps down to reload, he's taken out by a player named "PJHThe3rd." Blevins ended up taking 8th place that round.
The mysterious player was later revealed to be Phil Huges, whose Twitter handle coincidentally is "PJHughes45," mirroring parts of his gamer name. Hughes confirmed his identity on Twitter by posting the clip.

Hughes also explained that Ninja is his first kill ever on Battle Royale, and that he jokingly takes credit even as it ended up being 3v1 against Ninja towards the end.
Still, if Hughes continues to take out top Battle Royale players, he might consider switching careers from pro baseball, to pro gaming.
