Torchlight Frontiers is Coming Out Next Year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One

A new Torchlight game announced six years after Torchlight 2.

Torchlight is coming back after six years with Torchlight Frontiers. The action RPG series from the veterans that brought you Diablo and the original Torchlight games is coming back next year for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

Torchlight Frontiers will be set in the same universe as Torchlight 1 and 2 and brings back several features and mechanics from the original Torchlight games. Runic Games and Blizzard North co-founder Max Schaefer is heading up development on Torchlight Frontiers along with veterans from Diablo and Torchlight.

Torchlight Frontiers

The first two Torchlight games were developed by Diablo veterans under a new studio Runic Games. After releasing two critically-acclaimed Torchlight games that reinvigorated the dungeon-crawling action RPG template popularized by Diablo, Runic Games parent company Perfect World shut down the studio in 2017. Two years later Torchlight Frontiers is coming back under a new Perfect World studio, Echtra Games.

Expect to explore a "shared, persistent, and dynamically generated world," as you team up with other players and trusted pets to explore the ruins of a lost civilization in Torchlight Frontiers. Arc is promising additional details for a later date, so keep your eyes peeled as new info comes in.
