Torment: Tides of Numenera Launching on February 28, 2017

The spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment finally has a full release date.

InXile Entertainment has announced that Torment: Tides of Numenera finally has a release date: February 28, 2017. The fantasy RPG launched on Steam Early Access earlier this year and is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

"It has been a long journey, and without your help on Kickstarter it would never have happened. We could not be happier to be delivering a successor to the Torment name and legacy, and we look forward to you enjoying it early next year," wrote InXile vice president of development Chris Keenan.

"Rest assured that while we have our release date, that doesn't mean our work is quite done yet. We'll be using our remaining time to polish the game for you up to the last possible moment. And of course, once we get closer to release we'll have more news to share with you as well."

Torment: Tides of Numenera was Kickstarted by InXile Entertainment way back in March of 2013, crossing its funding goal in just six hours. The game is a spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment, one of the more inventive CRPGs of the late 90s. Torment: Tides of Numenera was planned for a December 2014 release, but development stretched longer than anticipated. Soon, InXile Entertainment will see if it can deliver another success like Wasteland 2.
