Twitch Personality DrDisrespect Abruptly Ends Stream After Apparent Shooting Attack on Home [Update]

DrDisRespect issues a statement.

Update: Guy Beahm tweeted a statement tonight confirming that he and his family are fine and that he will resume his DrDisRespect stream tomorrow as scheduled.

Original Story

Popular Twitch streamer Guy "DrDisRespect" Beahm ended his stream early today after he told his audience that someone shot a gun at his home, hitting his upstairs window.

In a clip posted online on Twitter by YouTube news reporter KEEMSTAR, Beahm returns to his stream without his DrDisRespect attire to address his viewers. "Ladies and gentleman...I gotta end the broadcast right now, someone shot at our house, broke our upstairs window."

Beahm also revealed that this is the second time in two days that someone shot at his family's residence, but today the shots hit his home's upstairs window. The clip ends with Beahm becoming visibly upset.

Beahm, who became one of the most popular streamers on the video platform Twitch for playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds under his persona "DrDisRespect" is one of faces of the battle royale genre. He won the Trending Gamer Award at the 2017 Video Game Awards.

This is not the first incident of someone attacking the home of a popular streaming or YouTube personality. In January 2018 RoosterTeeth's Gavin Free and Meg Turney were victims of a home invasion which forced the couple to hide in their closet and call 911 as the invader broke into their home.

On Beahm's Twitch channel it states that his family is safe and "proper measures" are being taken while the Stream is offline.

This is a developing story.
