Totally radical, broseph.

Closing out today's Ubisoft Forward today was a new game that seemed suspiciously familiar. Riders Republic is a new "massive multiplayer playground" developed by Ubisoft's Annecy studio, where over 50 players can compete with each other in various extreme sports events.
You'd be forgiven if this stirred up some memories of Steep for you. Much like Ubisoft's previous extreme sports venture, Riders Republic mixes a lot of different speed-focused, dangerous ways of exploring and speeding through an open world. Mountain bikes, wingsuits, snowboards, skis, and even jet-packs make an appearance.
Ubisoft promises trick battles and mass-start races, where you have to race a bunch of players to be first to the finish line. It's also very much in one of Ubisoft's modern styles that's been seen in games like Watch Dogs Legion or Far Cry New Dawn: lots of bright, vibrant colors and attitude.
With over 50 players in massive races and community jams to compete in, as well as six-versus-six team battles, it seems like there will be a lot of ways to compete in Riders Republic. It seems like a spiritual successor and more fleshed-out version of Steep, but for a next-gen showcase, that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Riders Republic is currently set for a Feb. 25, 2021 release date on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC. Ubisoft has also confirmed that PS4 and Xbox One purchasers can upgrade to the next-gen version at no additional cost.
