An unannounced new Star Wars game appeared on the PlayStation Network overnight, as evidenced by one Twitter bot. The game, "Maverick," seems to hint at some Star Wars to come.
A PSN release bot that posts PlayStation 4 game releases and updates caught "Maverick" last night as it slid onto the European PSN. The name "Maverick" seems to indicate some kind of flight game, but we don't have much info to go on at the moment.

Last month, a Kotaku report said more Star Wars games were in development following a canceled Battlefront spin-off for the next generation of consoles. One was said to be a sequel to Respawn Entertainment's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and the other, a "smaller, more unusual project" from EA Motive.
More Star Wars is a good thing, especially as studios seem to be overcoming the barriers in making the Star Wars games they want. Respawn's Fallen Order was an especially high point for the studio, both garnering acclaim and proving the Apex Legends and Titanfall developer isn't a "one-trick pony".
Still, there hasn't been a Star Wars game rollout comparable to the flood of movies we've seen in the last few years. Some fans have even taken to making their own Star Wars games, like the lightsaber fighting game Force Combat. Though those projects are cool, they are also extremely at risk of some attention from lawyers. Maybe Project Maverick can serve up the Star Wars we've been waiting for.
