Uncharted Director Amy Hennig Wins GDC Lifetime Achievement Award

The director of Uncharted is being awarded for her contributions to video games.

The Game Developers Conference announced today that Uncharted director Amy Hennig will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards. Previous recipients of the award include Tim Schafer, Shigeru Miyamoto, Warren Spector, and more.

The 19th Annual Game Developers Choice Awards, set for March 20, 2019, has chosen Amy Hennig for the prestigious award celebrating her three-plus decades in the games industry where she started with the Atari 7800 to today's latest consoles.

Hennig is best known for her work as director and writer of Naughty Dog's Uncharted series but has worked as director and writer on Legacy of Kain at Crystal Dynamics as well. Her games have won awards from BAFTA and the WGA Video Game Writing Awards.

"Amy Hennig is a powerful figure in the game world; her work exemplifies what good game narrative can be, with pathos, humor, suspense, and energy. She is truly one of the most influential developers in the games industry," said Game Developers Conference general manager Katie Stern.

We would like to congratulate Amy Hennig on her award.
