Fangamer just put up pre-orders for its collector's edition of the cult-hit RPG Undertale for the Nintendo Switch today. Shipments will be going out sometime in September 2018 which is the first time we've been given a release window for Undertale on the Switch in North America.
Like the physical PlayStation 4 Collector's Edition, Fangamer is releasing a similar package for the Nintendo Switch. The $69 Collector's Edition includes the following:
- Physical copy of Undertale for the Nintendo Switch
- Heart-shaped music box locket made of 14kgold-plated brass
- A 24-page story booklet illustrated by Temmie Cheng
- The complete Undertale 2-disc sountrack,
- An Undertale sheet music booklet with
- six songs and annotations by Toby Fox
- A sturdy matchbox-style collector's box.
There will also be a standard edition of Undertale for the Switch which comes with a copy of the game an a 24-page story booklet illustrated by Temmie Cheng. Both editions will be available through Fangamer or more than 1000 Best Buy locations, which also marks the first time Fangamer merchandise is available at a major retailer in the US.
Nintendo announced that Undertale would be coming to the Nintendo Switch back during a Nintendo Indies showcase in March 2018. No release date was announced at the time, but Amazon.jp listed Undertale Switch for September 15, but this is only a Japanese release date. The Fangamer collector's and standard edition only says that shipments will go out in September, so we still don't have a specific release date just yet.
Undertale is the highly successful indie game from designer-composer Toby Fox. Influenced by games like Mother and Touhou, Undertale quickly became a cult-hit and is widely considered one of the best modern indie games. Undertale's charming art style belies an emotional narrative and powerful end-game which we still can't get over. We even named Undertale one of the 15 best PS4 games out right now.
