What's worse than one goose run amok, causing havoc around an otherwise peaceful town? Two geese. Untitled Goose Game is doubling the trouble with a co-op update, coming next month.
On Sept. 23, a free update for all platforms will allow two players to team up for antics in Untitled Goose Game. While simply adding a second goose sounds simple, the possibilities get wild. Items can be tandem lifted and passed between geese, and townspeople will have to deal with twice the honking. That one kid you normally bully around as just one goose is going to have some serioues goose-themed nightmares for years once he sees two.
The goose game came out last year and quickly stole the hearts of many mischievous players in the process. As Senior Editor Caty McCarthy put it in her review, Untitled Goose Game imagines a world where Agent 47 of Hitman was just a rude, mischievous goose. Stealing items and pranking the townspeople is already fun as one, but the ways for pulling those off could get even more interesting with a second goose in the mix.
With two players in on the fun, I'm fascinated to see what sorts of new hijinx will be possible. I'm already thinking of the speedrunning categories this could create. Though maybe that's just because Summer Games Done Quick is on this week.
Alongside the free update, Untitled Goose Game will also be headed to two new platforms. PC owners will have both Steam and Itch.io as purchasing options for the game alongside its preexisting spot on the Epic Games Store. Untitled Goose Game is also available on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
