Another week, another laundry list of new games, and time again for another installment of the still-untitled USgamer Friday stream. While the last couple weeks have been all about upcoming games and chatting with the developers behind them, this week we wanted to chill and hang out with some pals.
To that end, the wonderful writers over at Fanbyte are joining yours truly for a few rounds of Valorant, Riot Games' recently released tactical shooter. We've been training hard to deliver some quality Valorant gameplay, or at least whatever sick plays we can muster, so we'd love for you to join us as we tumble our way through round after round this Friday, starting at 1 p.m. PT / 4 p.m. ET.
Valorant quickly took the competitive side of the gaming industry by storm once Riot revealed it. It is unapologetically competitive, and also, pretty unapologetically influenced by Counter-Strike. Still, its stylish flair and the addition of hero characters called Agents, with abilities and ultimates, really do change up the normal pace of a round.
It's not a League of Legends shooter (it's not even set in the same universe), but it is its own entity, and part of the larger shift at Riot Games to become more of a publisher that spans several games than just the developer of League of Legends. The latter isn't a terrible title to have, but there's always room to grow.
Valorant manages to sate my desire for tactical warfare, while still offering a fun and entertaining social space to hang out with friends as we play through rounds, so I hope you'll join us and hang out in the chat to do exactly that this Friday. We'll have some more words on Valorant coming soon, but in the meantime, be sure to check out our previous streams of The Waylanders and Gestalt: Steam & Cinder if you missed them.
