US Super Mario Maker 2 Players May Not Get a Stylus, But There is This Sweet Lunchbox

Do not attempt to use your lunchbox in the place of a stylus, though.

If you believe in working hard and drumming up a good appetite in the process, you'll be pleased to learn Target is giving away free tin lunchboxes with purchases of Super Mario Maker 2. Now you can stop for a convenient, hearty sandwich after you break a sweat putting down all those digital bricks.

Twitter user "nonchalanthello" pointed out the promotion via a Tweet earlier today. They included a snapshot of a Target flyer, which declares the lunchbox's availability is limited. If you want one, you might want to line up.

The Super Mario Maker 2 lunchbox is an interesting promotion. For one thing, games tend to come with T-shirts or stickers if anything, not a fancy item like a lunchbox (not to say the lunchbox isn't thematically proper). For another thing, it might be a sort of replacement for the Super Mario Maker 2 stylus Europe and Japan are getting, but not North America.

Personally, I think the lunchbox is very cute. Growing up, all our lunchboxes were plastic and had He-Man or She-Ra on the front. They also had a peculiar smell that I suppose is only achievable when you stuff months' worth of peanut butter sandwiches into a porous plastic container.

Super Mario Maker 2 is coming to the Switch on June 28. We already have some early impressions, including an in-depth look at the game's excellent story mode. For everything else you need to know, take a look at our Super Mario Maker 2 guide.

Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission. See our terms & conditions.
