USgamer is going to PAX West and we have a full weekend planned. We'll be hosting panels, holding meetups, and much more so check below on how you can catch us gamers at PAX West this year.
PAX West kicks off on Friday, August 31 at the Washington State Convention Center. On Day One you'll be able to catch USgamer's editor-in-chief Kat Bailey as she joins Kinda Funny's Greg Miller, God of War director Cory Barlog, IGN's Sydnee Goodman, and hosts Jared Petty and Gary Whitta in The Quest for the Perfect Superman Game panel on Friday at 3 p.m. in the Wyvern Theatre. There, the panelists will take an in-depth look at what makes Superman just such a bad fit for video games.
USgamer's panel plans officially kicks off on Saturday at 5 p.m. with "Mass Effect: USgamer Explores One of the Best RPGs Ever" where Mike Williams, Kat Bailey, and Nadia Oxford will be joined by Waypoint's Austin Walker and Vidjagame Apocalypse's Matthew Allen to discuss BioWare's tremendous sci-fi opus as part of Axe of the Blood God's Best RPG countdown. The panel will be in the Hippogriff Theatre.
Then on Sunday at 5 p.m. you can catch the full USgamer editorial staff (including yours truly) along with our colleague Matt Martin from VG247 for "The Rapidly Changing World of Games Journalism." Our experienced panel spans multiple generations of games journalism to explore what's changed, what's stayed the same, and what the future looks like for games writing.
There's also going to be a Gamer Network drink meetup at Gordon Biersch on Sunday at 2pm with us, VG247 and Eurogamer. It's open and chill, so come hang out with us and take a break from the hectic PAX West convention floor with a couple cold ones.
We'd be remiss if we didn't tell you what our Gamer Network colleagues are up to at PAX West. On Monday at 1:30pm at the Sphinx Theatre Eurogamer's Johnny Chiodini will be speaking with Cyberpunk RPG creator Mike Pondsmith about "The History of Cyberpunk". VG247 is also hosting "500 Million and Counting: So What Makes the PlayStation So Special?" which is also on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Sandworm Theatre.
For a full list of events check out the PAX West schedule here. There are plenty of panels for specific games including an Anthem panel, a Devil May Cry 5 panel, and Life is Strange 2 panel, which all should be enlightening and entertaining. Some of us will probably be at those too. So, join us this weekend for a packed PAX West weekend.
