USgamer's RPG Podcast: Life After Pokemon Bank

USgamer's RPG Podcast: Life After Pokemon Bank

This week we have chatter about Pokemon Bank and Dragon Quest VIII to go with a Torment: Tides of Numenera interview.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey. You can find the previous episodes here.

In this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God (download link here), we talk about life after Pokemon Bank, then interview legendary RPG designer Brian Fargo about his role on Torment: Tides of Numenera.

As I explained earlier this week, the release of Pokemon Bank is where the fun really begins for me. I brought my 3DS with me down to Los Angeles for a trip and spent a bunch of time playing through the Battle Tree yesterday. I also took the time to import all of my legendary monsters and basically make myself at home. Nadia and I discuss all of this!

This episode also includes an interview with Brian Fargo about Torment: Tides of Numenera, which I recorded immediately after checking it out at a recent event. We talk about the choices you can make, its emphasis on narrative over action, and the way that it inverts Planescape Torment. Apologies for the audio quality on this one: The interview as recorded in a room with a lot of echo.

Also in this episode: Dragon Quest VIII! A Pillars of Eternity sequel! And the ultimate question: Should I play Persona 3 Portable or Chrono Trigger?
