USgamer's RPG Podcast Reviews Dragon Quest VII

AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD: Kat and Nadia tackle an RPG that's been a long time coming while also delving into Halcyon 6 and Trails of Cold Steel 2 feedback.

Axe of the Blood God is our weekly RPG podcast hosted by Kat Bailey. You can find the previous episodes here.

In this week's episode of Axe of the Blood God (download link here), we finally tackle an RPG that's been in the making for quite a long time: The Nintendo 3DS remake of Dragon Quest VII.

Nadia has been playing Dragon Quest VII like crazy and has lots of thoughts, which we get into in this episode. We discuss the job system, the story, and of course, the pacing - the last of which always seems to come up in any conversation about Dragon Quest VII. Have a listen and enjoy!

Also in this episode: We go into the feedback from our Trails of Cold Steel 2 discussion and read one of the letters we received. I also talk a bit about Halcyon 6, which I reviewed earlier this week.

Next week: SMT: Apocalypse and sports games as RPGs!

Show Description

Kat and Nadia get together to discuss a remake that's been a long time coming in North America: Dragon Quest VII. What's the story like? Does it improve on the flawed PSX version? And how long does it take to get to an actual battle? All that and more! Plus: Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander and Trails of Cold Steel 2 feedback!

Music from Axe of the Blood God is courtesy of Lena Chappelle, who has also contributed the themes to Active Time Babble and Roleplayers' Realm. I also use music from the RPG Music Pack over at Check it out!
