Another new Vampire: The Masquerade game has been announced, this time from publisher Bigben and The Council developer Big Bad Wolf.
Bigben announced its new Vampire: The Masquerade game today. While there are no further details, we know that Big Bad Wolf will be developing the new title. The studio is best known for the episodic narrative game The Council, which features similar gothic horror elements and occult themes.
This makes it the ideal studio to tackle the World of Darkness RPG world in which Vampire is set in. The studio revealed that their Vampire game will be a narrative RPG, but aside from that we'll have to wait until Gamescom in August to learn more.
This is the second World of Darkness game coming from Bigben. The publisher recently revealed the its Werewolf RPG, also set in Vampire's World of Darkness universe, is coming out in 2020. Developed by Cyanide (Call of Cthulhu), Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthbound has been in development since at least 2017 and was previously coming from publisher Focus Home before moving to Bigben.
Both projects are unrelated to Paradox's Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, a direct sequel to Troika Games' 2004 cult classic. Bloodlines 2 is being developed by Hardsuit Labs and was announced at the Game Developer Conference in San Francisco, California earlier this year. You can read our in-depth preview for Bloodlines 2 here.
With so many games coming out based on the World of Darkness tabletop RPG universe, it's shaping up to be a good year for White Wolf Publishing, which develops the tabletop RPGs and has been owned by Paradox since 2015.
