Vampyr Will Suck the Blood Out of Nintendo Switch Too

Vampyr makes the leap to Switch, though no date has been revealed yet.

Earlier in June, just before E3 2018 rattled everyone's schedules, Dontnod quietly released its 1918-set vampiric action-adventure game Vampyr on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Today in publisher Focus Home Interactive's fiscal report for the first six months of the year, a new port of Vampyr has been announced. With almost nowhere left sink its fangs into, Vampyr is coming to Nintendo Switch.

No date or other details were revealed in the fiscal report. "After the successful launch of Vampyr where the game topped the charts in France, the UK, Germany and in many other countries, Dontnod’s game enjoyed tremendous success throughout the second quarter," the report states. In Q3 for Focus Home Interactive, it announced that Vampyr will be coming to Nintendo Switch next to reach an "even wider audience."

In our own review of Vampyr, we found the game to be middling, writing, "Vampyr is full of promising concepts, excellent character building, and lifelike communities, but ultimately [main character] Reid's bloodlust can't help but get in the way." Despite some mixed reviews, Vampyr was a success enough to warrant a Switch port and an upcoming television adaptation too.

Currently, Dontnod is also working on Life Is Strange 2, the sequel to its hit episodic adventure series. Episode 1 for the series released back in September, and is ongoing.
