Vault Boy Joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Mii Fighter Costume

Vault Boy Joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Mii Fighter Costume

The wasteland's mascot comes to Smash Bros.

Min Min may have been the big fighter reveal of the day, but a few more new faces are joining the roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as Mii Fighter costumes. While Splatoon and Arms characters aren't strange to see, the last one revealed was definitely odd: it's Vault Boy, from the Fallout series.

Vault Boy will be a special costume for the Gunner specialization of Mii Fighters. He's donning his blue jumpsuit, packing a special blaster, and his head is absolutely gigantic. Vault Boy looks about as mascot-like as you'd want him to be.

Several other characters are having their likenesses become Mii Fighter costumes as well. Ninjara from Arms will be a Brawler outfit, Callie and Marie get their own Mii costumes, and rounding out the new Brawler offerings is Tekken's Heihachi Mishima. Be sure to play him on the Brinstar stage to really capture the Mishima patriarch's energy.

Mii Fighter costumes have been a way for many popular characters to make their way into Super Smash Bros., whether it's Sans from Undertale or Cuphead, the hero of Cuphead. While the main roster is often preserved for standout fighters, Mii costumes can get a lot more zany.

Arms' Min Min was the big reveal today, as the Nintendo Switch fighting game's first Smash Bros. entrant. I'm bummed it wasn't Twintelle, but Min Min's move set looks pretty interesting-utilizing both arms to deliver a flurry of haymakers-so I'm looking forward to trying out an Arms-style fighter regardless. Min Min, as well as the Mii Fighter costume pack, arrive on June 29.
