Oh, rats. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is out on Xbox One. This marks the console debut of first-person action RPG following a successful PC launch last Spring.
Vermintide 2 had a successful closed beta on Xbox One, and now the finished product is all set to crawl across Microsoft's console. You obviously can't play the game's beta anymore, but there's no more time to waste on practice runs anyway. The never-ending wave of disease-sodden Skaven needed to be turned back, like, yesterday.
If you subscribe to Game Pass, the standard edition of the game is all yours. You can also upgrade to the Premium Edition, which has some extra goodies for you to sample.
Mike reviewed Vermintide 2 for us when it launched in March. He gave it a favorable score and complimented its effective use of tension and its challenging gameplay. The launch was also afflicted by issues with "spotty matchmaking," though FatShark Games has been working on getting everything up to snuff since March. Hopefully everything shines on the Xbox (if a game this grim is actually capable of shining).
As for Vermintide 2 on the PlayStation 4, that beta is still ongoing. Sit tight.
