Video Game Cheats 'n Beatums #14: A Friendly Race

It's completely safe...

Column by KC Green, .

Video Game Cheats 'n Beatums is a weekly webcomic by KC Green. If you want to read more, you can find the rest of the archived comics here.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

-Dylan Thomas

KC Green is probably playing a weird indie game right now instead of working on his adaptation of Pinocchio or writing the comic BACK. He currently lives in Western Massachusetts in the snow where he makes comics and writes these bios.

@wertps3134: Your post, on the other hand, was the height of wit and my life is improved for reading it. Not a day goes by but I see something on the Internet and yearn to know whether somebody in the comments section who I've never heard of before likes it or not, and can express that in a thoroughly unoriginal sarcastic one-line comment.

To put it another way: you are entitled to your opinion, but you have given nobody any reason to give two craps what you think. If you don't like something, maybe share some reasons why you don't like it, some ideas on what could make it better -- you know, some kind of actual criticism instead of a third-grade comeback.

And once you're done with that, then you can work on not being an ass about it.

This seemed awfully familiar for some reason... and then I remembered why: this Awkward Zombie strip from July 2014:

@metalangel the only thing the two have in common is they're both mario kart.

In the awkwardzombie comic, bowser uses a fireflower on peach, and peach turns into the terminator.

In kc's comic, it's about bowser racing against his dead/post-lava-bath self.

@Swollercoaster Bowser is racing in both, Bowser looks arrogantly over in both. We see a skeletal version of another racer (due to immolation) in both. We see Bowser's shocked reaction in both. All of this in the same sequence, too.

I think you're reading too much into this. Zombie's comic was a terminator reference. KC's is about Bowser racing against his new DLC zombie skin. We don't even see bowser getting roasted in this one.

You're making drama to make drama. You're a bad person and should feel bad.

But which is the villain, and which the villanelle?
